Menace to society

Today, I was sitting in the park with my new dog; I got her from the pound last week. We were enjoying the sun when I noticed that every time a black person walked past, she'd bark like crazy. Great, my dog is a racist. FML

I apologize for a saddening/serious comment, but she seems to have had a bad experience with black people. Abuse possibly? Or your dog is totally racist. You choose whichever you prefer.

You guys are all out of your minds. Dogs are unable to see in colour, they see in black and white. So I you think about why he's barking, it makes sense. People with darker ethnicities are harder to see, therefore they are almost like "wandering ghosts." ANY dog would do the same, unless he/she has a black owner, in which case they are used to it.

Ever watch a black and white TV? There are still shades of gray. It's still possible to distinguish between skin colors.

Yea because when I watch something in black and white I can't tell who the black people are at all!!

Dogs don't actually see in black and white, they see in shades of blue-ish and yellow colours.

Where is everyone getting the idea that dogs see in black and white?

meow234: I don't know. People should do their research before they start stating things like they're facts. Which is why I did: According to Pedigree.com "Veterinarians used to believe that dogs saw only in black and white, but recent studies suggest that they actually do have some color vision—but it's not as bright as a human's. As it turns out, dogs have only 20% of the cone photoreceptor cells—the part of the eye that controls the perception of color—that humans have." So they have SOME color vision, just not as much as we do. kidpurp: I hope you realize you contradicted yourself. "dogs can only see in black and white." "black people." Made the connection yet? You should think about changing your name to kidderp.

My dog doesn't like men, especially if they're wearing glasses or hats. He has gotten a lot better since we adopted him but still wary around men until he realises we're okay with them then he relaxes but is still wary, he was abused before we got him,

maybe its the particular scent that those people have. if u have any black friends,u can test it hahahaha

Dont wory i have two racist dogs

Uhh, it actually sounded to me like the dog was previously abused BY black people, nothing about the previous owner being racist.

I sort of thought that everyone knew this. They look like shadows to dogs due to their limited color-seeing ability (no, they don't see in black and white). Dogs are intimidated. It has nothing to do with racism.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say maybe it's a Pitt bull...

Are you kidding me?

I wish I had that dog!!!!

That is some bullshit!
