that's what leashes are for. I get it it's a dog park, but doesn't really sound like one if people are picnicking, usually that means it's a regular park, I wouldn't want to sit and eat where dogs have been peeing and pooping all over specifically. never let your dog off leash unless you're ready for the consequences, best to keep your furry friend safe and near you, because people nowadays can react in horrific ways, because they are reacting to whatever your dog did or what they think they might do. instead of putting that responsibility into the paws of your bestie who can't tell friend from foe when they are excited and in general don't have a logical thinking brain, they are smart, but not on the level of humans who think of what may come next. keep your pupper safe!!!
