Today, I was working my shift at our local nursing home. I was assisting a "sweet", "innocent" 100-year-old lady, and she had a bunch of used tissues balled up in her lap, so I offered to dispose of them in the waste-basket. She told me that if I touched them, she would kill everything I love. FML

I don't think she's going anywhere so not like she can follow up on that threat.

how? if she cant get up to throw away some tissues, how would she get up to kill everything you love?

Well that escalated quickly.

To be fair she's been alive for a hundred years, bit a hundred days. To reach a hundred and still be entirely innocent and sweet is one hell of achievement.

My mom is a physician at two nursing homes, and, originally coming out of private practice, she says she now understands the difference between dementia and delirium. She also says she's surprised by the amount of patients she has with schizophrenia. I've gone into her work a couple times (for various reasons), and on the floor with the alzheimer's patients, when they scream and shout, it gets my anxiety amped up to such a level that I've burst into tears on a number of occasions.
