Unless you use a skill regularly, it's easy to forget it. You should have practiced with your daughter a few dozen times before you considered her appropriately trained.
It's not rocket science... I only learned it in theory when getting my drivers licence and only started doing it abouth two years later when I had a flat. jack up the car, losen 4-5 bolts, pull of tire, plonk new tire on, screw on and tighten bolts, let down car. It's not exactly something that needs doing "a few dozen times" to do right... Loading up a dishwasher needs more abstract thinking than changing a tire...
It's too bad there's literally no other way to figure out how to change a tire than have your father tell you, especially if you're young and have a smartphone.
she remembers, she just either to lazy to do it, or she doesn't want to get her hands dirty and break a nail. everyone, female or male, should know how to do basic car fixes.
Time to teach her by having her change her tire.
