Today, and since his retirement, my husband's enthusiasm for life has declined, his love of beer and crisps has skyrocketed, and his interest in personal hygiene has plummeted. Add to that his wearing of old, worn clothes with holes in he almost completely looks like Onslow from 'Keeping Up Appearances.' FML

Have you tried discussing this with him?? Maybe he’s depressed from not working? Do you guys go out and do things fun together still??

He needs a purpose. That could be volunteering to read to children at the library, helping in a food bank, helping those wounded in Afghanistan or Iraq to update their houses or spending time with grandchildren. Without A purpose, he will decline quickly. With a purpose he will be proud of himself and do well.
