Today, my car broke down and had to be towed to the dealership. Normally, this would be just unlucky but I work with kids and we had been fundraising for charity. I am now sitting at the dealership with my hair coloured purple, red and blue and in ridiculously high pigtails while people stare. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my car broke down. I pulled to the side of the road to call a tow truck. After waiting what seemed like hours, the tow truck showed up, and then ran into the back of my car. FML
Today, my car was towed. After taking a cab all the way to the lot for $45 and paying the $250 fee to get my car back, my car broke down in the impound lot and needed to be towed to the nearest shop, where it took another $200 to fix, and $50 for the towing. I still have a 3-hour drive home. FML
Today, I had the lovely experience of witnessing a tow truck cause a couple thousand dollars' worth of damage to my broken-down car. FML
Today, my car broke down on the highway, and I had to call for a tow truck. It finally showed up, only to break down too less than a mile later. Cue nearly freezing to death while we waited for help to arrive for the both of us. FML
Today, my car broke down dead in the middle of the highway. As I was unable to get it out of the road, it was impounded, and my insurance won't help. Now I'm further in debt and struggling to get to work. FML
Today, my check engine light came on. I took my car to the dealership, to be told it wasn’t an issue, and I would be fine to drive and use my car normally until my appointment in 4 days. Four hours later, my car won’t start 45 minutes from home. I guess a $200 tow bill means I wasn’t fine. FML
Today, I worked a carwash as a fundraiser. Being nice, I figured I'd bring my car, get it washed, and donate some money. When it was my car's turn to be washed, everyone was conveniently busy washing other cars. My car was in front and needed to be washed and moved. I paid $10 to wash my own car. FML
Today, I got woken up by my parents telling me I had to go buy a car so they could have transportation. Neither of their cars work, so I was letting them use mine, and then they wrecked it. It needs nearly a thousand bucks in repairs to be drivable again, but since it was my car, I have to replace it now to appease them. FML
Today, I walked to work. I later discovered that my husband had parked my car in a no-parking area. My job is towing cars. I had to tow my own car. FML
Today, I ran out of gas while driving, and had to call a tow truck. I drive a tow truck. FML

It might look less 'weird' if you took the pigtails out... but either way, they have no right to be making you feel uncomfortable. Ask what they're looking at, bet you they'll get all embarrassed and feel bad. I get stared at all the time for having blue hair, it freaks people out when I ask if I can do something for them. It's so satisfying xD Besides, colourful hair in pigtails is cute xD

Lol I do the same. I have neon pink hair, which I often wear in pigtails. It's all in how you carry yourself. If you are insecure about if, people will stare and mock.. If you have the balls to pull off neon hair, **** what anyone thinks... Most people respect that. I get people stopping me to tell me how much they admire my hair and wish they had the courage to do the same. That failing the explanation "I'm an artist." generally shuts everyone up lol

I don't think they were staring at your pigtails so much as your kinky stripper-clown costume. I'm sure those kids got more than their parents' money could bargain for. ;) I would tell you to keep your day job, but that's obviously counter-productive. Hope your car gets fixed!
