Don't get high on your own supply

Today, I saw my doc about the painful swelling I've had in my arm all week. He seemed totally out of it, and ended up telling me it's all in my head, despite the swelling. When I respectfully suggested it might be a blood issue, he just said, "Nah". FML

Seems like someone has been writing off his own prescriptions.

Sounds like someone may have taken a bit of a patient's medicinal marijuana for himself... I don't actually know what was up with him, but I would definitely say get a new doctor! xJ

Am I saying he's a horrible doctor? No, but if you're uncomfortable enough with his assessment to write an FML about it, it sounds like you two aren't a good match.

Patient: Hey, Doc, my leg is broken! Doctor: .... Nah....you're okay.... Patient: But my bone is poking out! Doctor: IM THE ******* DOCTOR, NOT YOU, BITCH!!

FThat's one lousy doctor there, do get a second opinion for your own sake. That know-it-all doctor of yours sounds like he is too lazy to find out why your arm is swollen and probably has not opened a book or read since he graduated.

It's called "conversion" - search it up... Conversion disorder is a condition in which you show psychological stress in physical ways. The condition was so named to describe a health problem that starts as a mental or emotional crisis — a scary or stressful incident of some kind — and converts to a physical problem.

That's one useless, crappy doctor you have there OP. You need a new one.

Did he at least touch the swelling and feel it? It could be a lipoma you never realized you have. At any rate, he should be communicating with you WAY more than just waving off your concerns with a 'nah'.

The lack of understand of my sarcasm makes me sad for the world today.
