Yeah I remember when facebook had those rainbow filters, I think my parents thought that meant I was also gay

I don’t understand why there are so many YDI. Much of the LGBT+ community (that I know personally) seems to feel very picky about who is allowed to show pride and/or support especially with the rainbows. If a movement wants support and acceptance it needs to accept said support. And before you thumbs down, no, I’m not straight.
could be the mother thought the daughter was LGBT due to the stuff, since either is symbols of the group. and then the daughter not being LGBT makes it confusing. maybe OP sounded defensive explaining it and made it even more confusing. age of the mother could decrease understanding depending on the area she was raised. long story short, OP seems to lean into it heavily for someone who doesn't seem to be LGBT and it makes it confusing.
