Ah, something very similar happened to me at my wedding. Damn Parental Units. I truly feel for you.
Good thing he missed it...but eventually things did irrupt...they may not like each other but still the only thing that matters is that you two love each other...

That's your wedding not hers. That line also seems like it would put more pressure on the Bride and Groom hoping that no one actually objects... Unless your Phiona and Shrek. (Might have messed up her name, sorry.)
