I work at a Hand Therapy center and I can tell you that this happens quite often. We have patients pass out or feel faint or nauseous from their injuries almost daily. Your hands have the highest concentration of nerves outside of sex organs so little injuries can hurt a lot, but people handle everything differently depending on their threshold for pain and comfort with medical settings/procedures. You're a good girlfriend for going with him and helping him when that happened even if he may have seemed whimpy!
