Attempted romance

By ItRainedOutside - 06/01/2013 08:49 - United States - Saint Petersburg

Today, after three years with my dream girl, I decided to pop the question by making her complete a scavenger hunt ending in her finding me, suit and everything, by the park bench where we had our first kiss. She came home tired and, instead of following the clues, decided to watch TV all day. FML

Great idea but FYL. Maybe next time you should remember to include some motivation.

That sounds like the sweetest proposal ever awww...propose to me, OP :p

Just try again a different day.

Don't end statements with a question mark.

50 -How do you know it was a statement and not a suggestion?

But doesn't the same Sh*t normally happen on a different day?

Oh snap. Shit be gettin reel over here!

I love how I have both the things #50 said they hated in my comment/bio. Muahaha!

88, You got thumbed down, but I think it's pretty funny too. What a coincidence! No wonder 50 doesn't like you!

61 but if it didn't say where to go, how would she have known where to look

Maybe you should just take her somewhere special then ask her

I don't think you understand why this is an FML. He could take her to dinner or somewhere fancy, yeah... But he obviously wanted to do something clever.

A better way might be to drop a hint to her best friend to give her some motivation but that's just me.

That was very romantic and thoughtful but maybe your girlfriend isn't a outdoors type...hope she said yes!

I'd say more lazy than anti-outdoors... just my first thought.

she was probably at work or had an exhausting day and just wanted to relax. i don't think she was lazy.

I'm not a romantic but I thought that was a really sweet idea, OP. I would love to be proposed to like that.

I'm so sorry man, that really sucks. FYL

Your first KISS should be "Keep It Simple, Stupid!"

If it was on a bench in a park, it sounds pretty simple...

#33, but this time, she has to go through this whole rigamarole to get there! In the immortal words of Avril Lavigne, "Why do you have to go and make things so complicated?"

If he's proposing, I think their first kiss was a very long time ago.

Yeah maybe 3 years ago...but that's just a guess.

I wonder where you got that number from...

"By the park bench where we had our first kiss." Where implies past tense, no?

I prefer "Keep it short & simple". Succinct works well too.

but he doesn't even know you...

21 - seriously? It feels like everyone on FML takes everything too damn serious.

It's probably just me but I think it was only really dry humor by 21.

This has got to be one of the stupidest comments ever. He would have, after the hunt. He wanted it to be special, though, so he didn't "just get down on one knee"

Some girls don't want a dramatic proposal. For some, all that matters is that he asks to spend the rest of their lives together. Sooo...stfu bitch!

24- Don't get married... No girl deserves that shitty attitude.

Don't take it personal, Op, I don't think she had any idea what was awaiting her at the end. :P Still, what a fun idea! A for effort! If you're willing to put that kind of effort into the proposal, I imagine you'll make a caring, thoughtful husband in all aspects of your life's! :D

If you're a girl in a serious relationship and your boyfriend sends you on a scavenger hunt, you pretty much know what's going to happen at the end. On a related note, boys do NOT send your girlfriend on a scavenger hunt unless you're planning on proposing.

18- My boyfriend sent me on a scavenger hunt and the end was a very romantic poem. I still have it and keep it safe. It's always nice to be romantic, whether it's just saying something sweet, or as big as a proposal.

Excellent effort though, even if she did end up watching TV. It's the thought that counts.
