Today, my mom and siblings got into a fight. Being generally quiet and non-confrontational, I stayed out of it. Shortly thereafter, I was yelled at by my mother for being "ungrateful" and "disrespectful." I still don't know what I did wrong. FML

Today, I visited my in-laws, whom I thought I was on great terms with. I soon learned that wasn't the case when my mother-in-law yelled at me about how I've been abusing her for years. Ten minutes later, she hugged me and asked me for grandkids. FML

Today, I said a few words to my mom that happened to be similar to something offensive, and she misheard. I tried to tell her, but she was so angry that she assumed I was saying more offensive things. Now she is punishing everybody in the house, and I’m not allowed to speak to her. FML

That's awful! It seems like she's taking out her problems on you. Does your father know about how she treats you? If not, please try to talk to him about it. Unfortunately though, I know people can sometimes overlook their new spouse mistreating their children because they're desperate or whatever. My friend's father overlooked her step mom beating and starving her for years...anyways, I sincerely hope that you'll be able to get support from your dad, because your step mom sounds like a total douche.
