Today, my mom asked me why I barely talk to her anymore. Well, mom, maybe it's because you nicknamed my stepdaughter "Leftovers," and call her that in public, like at family gatherings or school events. FML

That’s so sad, one of the biggest things that made me see how loving my husband is was the fact that he has always treated his stepson as his own and doesn’t differentiate between him and his other children. Sorry to hear about your awful situation.
