Finger on the pulse

Today, I started a new job as a receptionist at a nursing home. When two men came in saying, "We're here for Mr. Christensen," I paged him to come to the front desk. Apparently, these men had come from the funeral home to pick up Mr. Christensen's body. I was completely unaware that anyone had died. FML

I feel horrible for laughing this hard. My sincere condolences to friends and family of Mr Christensen, though.

I hate to laugh at this, but... You're a newbie and you were not informed. Don't feel too bad.

At least it was men from the funeral home and not the poor man's family...

yeah, people tend to die. it happens in nursing homes.

Yes but the receptionist should be told especially if the funeral home is coming to pick that person up, also the funeral home people should have said that they were from the funeral place

This is what I was going to say, they should have properly introduced themselves instead of assuming she knew why they'd be there.

who did you actually end up paging though?

Should of played it off by saying there are 2 Mr. Christensens

I hope, wherever Mr. Christensen is he is laughing because that is hilarious. Sorry OP, FYL.
