Triage

Today, while at my job as a nurse in the ER, someone came in with a hangnail. They threw a fit that they had to wait because we were managing a heart attack, a man with colon cancer and a kid with appendicitis. FML

ER staff does not get enough credit. As someone who had an early heart attack, I thank you. I know how quickly they acted and the difference it made.

Haha...a prescription for opioids is a goal for many. And if they don’t get them they rate us poorly on the survey which determines how much the hospital gets reimbursed.

This person was right. All of these other people are selfishly hogging medical resources where the hangnail could be fixed with a snip of a scissors, a Band-Aid and a prescription for opioids.
