Today, while working at Subway I joked with a customer asking him if he was going to order in Spanish. The women in front of him began yelling about how I was being racist and told my manager that I needed to be fired. The customer I was joking with was my Spanish teacher. FML

Today, my co-worker and I were having a conversation in Russian. Our boss overheard us talking, shouted, "I know you're talking about me! I speak Spanish too!" and threatened to fire us. FML

Today, my coworker and I were swamped with coffee orders. I told him I would "take care of the blacks", and a customer who only heard that sentence screamed at me for several minutes about racism. FML

Today, a customer came in who only spoke Spanish. I speak Spanish rather well so I helped the customer. She ended up buying $2300 worth of stuff. I got written up because not speaking English apparently "has the potential be offensive to other customers if they are not able to understand you." FML

Today, I was getting lunch at a fast food restaurant. My boss was in front of me, and in order to get on his good side I offered to pay. Instead, I got fired because I guess my boss assumed I was making fun of his salary, which I knew nothing about. FML

Today, a customer asked me if we serve spaghetti. She then asked for a manager because I was giving her a weird look, laughing softly when telling her yes, and apparently making her feel stupid. My manager wrote me up. I work at the Old Spaghetti Factory. FML

Today, a lady at the clothing store told me to, “Stop speaking 'Mexicano', this is America!” when I was talking on the phone. I actually speak Portuguese. When I pointed this out, she verbally tortured me and threatened to, “Call the cops” if I didn’t leave her store for, “making her feel threatened.” FML

Today, while working at Subway, I was called a "terrorist" and other names by a customer 'behind my back'. I made him the best sandwich I'd ever made, in order to leave a good impression. Then I had to say the wonderful words, "Your total is $9.11." FML

Your co worker sounds like a beaner just ignore him. And no every Mexican is MOT one Just the ones that call people racist all the time. Then go to there friend in Spanish about the gringo like we don't understand. But I'm sure there will be someone to comment and say I'm racist

I'm confused, was this guy even Mexican or Spanish or any kind of Latino, because if not that doesn't make any sense. I can at least see her getting upset if this guy looked like he was Latino but if he wasn't she had no reason to freak out like that. It wouldn't be racism otherwise.

I can't stand customers like her. I work in a bakery that gives cookies to kids for free. Generally as long as they are polite we don't care how old they. I had a lady try to get one of my star employees fired because she saw him give a cookie to a kid she deemed to be too old. Unfortunately OP you will always encounter customers like her. Hopefully she didn't get you in trouble because you did nothing wrong.
