You deserve that for being stereotypical and thinking that just because someone looks foreign, or may be foreign, it means that they can't speak or understand your language.

its ignorant people like you that piss me off. okay, its understandable to think that some tourists may not speak english, but to insult them like that? seriously, you could have asked normally to take the picture, and then if they didn't understand you, you could have said it slowly with your hand motions. but until they give you some kind of indication that they don't speak english, don't assume. remember the saying...when you assume, you make an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me' lol

Okay first of all, saying something in English slowly does not make you any more understandable than saying it normally. If they weren't going to understand you than there would be nothing you could do. Don't assume. You're fault. You deserved it.

dude. i totally understand your situation, believe it or not. and if we think about the american culture, it makes perfect sense that you'd assume that they don't speak english, especially if they looked like tourists! it still must have sucked, though. FYL, lol.

and #25, that's just silly. of course speaking slower makes it easier to understand, particularly if the listener has some (even if not very much) training in the language. and on top of that, he didn't just speak slowly, he used gestures as well. (which in the end only made it worse, lol)

I don't see why speaking in broken English would have made you any easier to understand... I speak Spanish, but not quite fluently; if someone was speaking that way to me in Spanish, it would just be MORE confusing.
