Today, while at the Golden Gate Bridge, I spotted a large group of Asians trying to take a picture. Trying to help, I slowly say, "You... want me... take picture?" while using hand motions. The man looks at me and says, "No thanks asshole, I got it," in plain English. FML

#15, who said they were tourists? America has a shitload of asian-americans which is why the OP is retarded and needs to get out more

#42, the person who WROTE the post said they were tourists. Did you even read the thing? And by the way, the only way to get out of this situation is to do that same thing to someone else - of the same race as yourself. It'll make them feel bad about calling you an asshole because they'll think you're retarded. Only way out.

#15 The difference is that English is used as lingua franca. It is taught around the world (and Americans actually use it everywhere.) Your argument is a bit invalid, since you questioned why everyone assume that tourist speak English, then gave an example about Latvian. Really, can an Asian who doesn't understand Latvian (or Russian) travel to Riga without speaking any English as well? I doubt it.

don't be so harsh... America's a melting pot and things like this are bound to happen. Being a native San Franciscan and a Taiwanese American myself, I found it hilarious

you're obviously not from San Francisco or you wouldn't have been so stupid.

Ahahahahaha thats awesome! You win.

and, by the way, he made a honest mistake. if you're going to say something along the lines of "you asshole, go die, not every asian speaks this way, you're racist, you're Republican (which by the way makes no sense, Democrats are the historically racially-intolerant party), you're an idiot for lumping all asians together.." Why were the asians all standing together? Its not like he's the only one guilty of prejudice, the asians willingly grouped with only other asians (assuming they were all around the same age and not a family). They're just as guilty as racial discrimination as he would be for accidentally assuming they were foreigners. Back off, assholes.

lol, maybe they were a family that wanted to take a picture?

wow now I bet you feel like the arrogant racist bastard that you are, don'tcha?

would you have acted the same way to a group of tourists who weren't asian? i work in times square where it's flooded with tourists, many of whom are from european countries and don't know a lick of english. but if they're just trying to take a picture, there's no way to tell (unless they're directing ppl for the photo in their language). for all i know, they could be tourists from maryland! you got some weird dictionary if that's what acting like a diplomat is to you.
