Today, we were notified that our office will be relocated. Employees can tag along but their wages will not be adjusted accordingly. The cost of living at the new place is way higher. I have to finish my contract and really can't afford to not have a job right now. FML

My best advice would be to find a roommate and a new place before the deadline. I hope it all works out!

I feel like if the company moves, you're not bound to the contract. They can't force you to move with them. Time to start a job hunt. Good luck either way OP

Some money is better than no money. Stay positive!

With any luck you can get out of your contract. The new living expenses could be considered an unreasonable expectation or request. Have someone who knows contracts look over yours, they may be able to find an out for you.

I would agree they technically broke the contract and may even owe you money for the work on that you did complete maybe not all of it, but what ever percent you did.

Where I work we have some positions that consist of 3 twelve hour shifts from Friday through Sunday. Several of the people whom work those shifts live in different states and have shared apartments here or stay with friends or family. They go back home only on their off days. Some of our 4-10 guys do that too. It may be something worth looking into.
