Today, I had a date with a man who works as a psychiatrist. He diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder during dinner. FML
Today, I invited a few of my co-workers over to play video games. Within an hour, my wife had gotten drunk, grabbed my controller, told me to "get back in the kitchen", and described to everyone in blood-chilling detail how she took her first boyfriend's virginity. FML
Today, what should have been a nice family dinner ended with my wife standing over me, staring me dead in the eyes, while endlessly repeating, “Get him out of my house, get him out of my house…” until I agreed to take my drunk brother to a hotel to sleep it off. FML
Today, while trying to have a serious conversation with my husband about his drug use over text, he came home. Drunk. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I went to taste some wine with some friends. I drank a little too much and referred to him as my brother to a random guy. Let’s just say I put a strain on my relationship. FML
Today, I fucked up. I let my mental health problems and the alcohol win. I was horrible to my wife and basically ended my marriage due to my problems and insecurities. FML
Today, my husband came home drunk off his ass at 2am. He started crying on my shoulder because he couldn't go home with some beautiful woman who hit on him, because sadly for him, he's married to me. FML
Today, during a dinner party, some friends brought up how sweet, innocent and caring they thought I was. I had to sit there as my drunk boyfriend cut them off and loudly argue that I was neither sweet nor innocent, and really nothing that special at all. FML
Today, my boyfriend of 4 years drunkenly introduced me to another very special lady. His wife. FML
Today, my wife told me alcohol gives me "increased confidence without increased ability." FML

pychoanalysis is bullshit. Don't let it get you down. Amatuer psychiatrists (IE people who took psych 101 in college) and shitty psychologists (even if they have a degree that doesn't mean they're actually knowledgable in the field) seem to love to pull that in social settings, though as far as I can tell it always just makes them look like jackasses. A decent, skilled psychiatrist knows that the human mind doesn't actually work like that, and a decent human being doesn't act like such a jackass at a dinner party.
