Today, the driver side mirror of my car was smashed off and laying on the ground. On the window was a $75.00 ticket for improper equipment for not having a mirror. FML

Its probably not. I've known people where something very similar has happened. In maybe your area he wouldn't have gotten a ticket, but everywhere has different rules. Where I live even if you're parked if you don't have all mirrors and lights intact, you get fined

I would take a picture of the accident, then go fight the ticket with the picture saying that they can't fine you for not having a mirror because you had no time to replace the broken car part before you got fined. if that's too much work... pay $75 dollar fine and move on. best of luck.

Idk where some of you guys are, but I live in New York and here even if your not driving it, your vehicle needs to meet all standards, including ALL of the mirrors and headlights/ taillights. I've known people something very similar like this has happened to who got fined about the same amount. FYL
