Today, my son told me he lost the envelope with all the money he earned selling Cub Scout popcorn. The popcorn was delivered already, and the money needs to be turned in to the pack leader tonight. I just spent $220 on popcorn my neighbors are eating. FML

Why haven't YOU been keeping up with the money FOR your Cub Scout-aged son?

I personally wouldn't pay for it. This is a great opportunity to teach your son about the responsibilites that come with handling money, especially other people's.

i mean, someone has to pay for the popcorn, and the neighbors certainly aren't going to pay for popcorn they already bought again. so she's kind of stuck. but if she didn't tell him, she could always tell her son that he has to pay for it, and he can do it by doing chores or something.

I agree, make your son pay you back either with money or with chores. That way he he can learn responsibility with money. Oh, make sure you don't see any new toys pop up too. ; )

Aww, i understand you ... your son didnt mean it :( it kinda sucks to pay 220$ but its ok ... what doesnt kill u make u stronger :D

I don't think loosing a couple hundred dollars can make you stronger

It's your fault for letting your kid handle that much money.

Yeah, you should wait until kids are at least 20 until you try and teach them responsibility for money! Oh wait, no, that's stupid.

You're right, she should hand the kid large quantities of other people's money as a means of teaching him responsibility. Oh, wait, that's spectacularly reckless.

dude... i am sorry but sucks for you man. when you force your kid into boy scouts dont bother selling it. only hardcore lovers will buy that expensive shit. trust me i just aged out of boy scouts. i stopped selling it three years ago

who said the kid was forced? lots of kids want to be scouts.

Make him pay it back by earning money and doing chores etc

Lost it? More like, got $220 worth of hookers and blow.

your son is lying, I'd bet $220 on it. but on the brightside he has either a stack of drugs or a new playstation to play with!!

Why the hell are you letting your less-than-10-year-old son take responsibility for that? You should be helping keep tabs on that. More to the point, if you didn't help him look around for the money after you found out, then that YDI goes for double.

if i didn't live in CA i would have been laughing my ass off, i bought a tub of that stuff yesterday
