Parents aren't supposed to have a favorite child but they do. Sometimes it's just a personality thing that can't be helped. Like your brother may have just always gotten along with your mom better and / or shares more common interests with her. It doesn't mean your mom loves you any less just because she "clicks" better with your brother.

Maybe even he sells drugs, he still finds the time to spend time with your mom, help around the nice, and be genuinely nice to her. Maybe you do too, who knows?

I for sure wouldn't want a drug-selling son to be 'nice' to me or even spend time with me: he would use this as an excuse to get away with it.
