Today, my mom realized that the "door" part in "screen door" doesn't block sound when she began to talk to our neighbours about how much of a failure I am. I heard everything. FML

Today, I was singing in the shower, not realising the window was open. When I got out, the neighbours were at the front door, loudly arguing with my mother. They were complaining about my awful singing. FML

Today, I said a few words to my mom that happened to be similar to something offensive, and she misheard. I tried to tell her, but she was so angry that she assumed I was saying more offensive things. Now she is punishing everybody in the house, and I’m not allowed to speak to her. FML

Today, I was yelled at by my mom because I didn't hear her. I'm only 16, but I swear, to some extent, I'm losing my hearing, I don't even know what from. I've told her this, but she can't hear out of one ear, so of course it wouldn't feel real. I do feel bad about it, but I haven't heard her every time this has happened. FML

Today, my mother told me that I "should have never had children" after I sided with my son when he yelled at her for talking too loudly. I have hyperacusis, and my son has sensory deprivation disorder. My mom knows this, and blames it on her friends who are hard of hearing. Nothing is ever her fault. FML

Today, the doorbell rang. I saw my incredibly overbearing mum's car outside, so I stayed quiet and tried to sneak upstairs. As I crawled through the hallway, commando style, I realised the door blinds were still out for cleaning. If scowls could kill, I'd be roasting in Hell right now. FML

ignore it & get away as soon as you can afford it. When our son was 2 my ex husband told me our son WOULD play professional football & support HIM in luxury later in life. FTS. I told my son to do what he wanted. Football, ballet, politics , etc. Yep his dad disowned him for going career military. 8 years in & going strong! Sometimes you must walk away from a parent.

I have seen many comments from thoughtless parents on FML. See the situation through the parents minds and realize many cannot visualize a different outcome for their children, Their parents were trained by their parents to react in this manner. Do not react and accept or walk away.

Sometimes, going away from the parents is better. I had to call the cops on my mother. There is not a day that I regret it even if it was hard at first.
