I know how that is I ask my mom to get more supplies cause I'm running low, a month later when I have like a case of test strips she says oh I need to order those don't I Loafer :P

You don't have to be fat to be a diabetic - obesity only induces type 2 diabetes and there are very fit people who develop type 2 as well, though they are the exception rather than the rule. I'm guessing the OP must be type 2, since if you had a type 1 go without insulin for two weeks the health implications would be scary...incredibly bad even for a type 2.

Even if it was type 2, she could still be dead in less than a week. Also, even some type 2's are also insulin dependent.

wooow she's probably type 1 - there's nothing you can do to prevent this it's nothing to do with eating your body kills of the insulin producing cells. And 2 weeks without insulin would be more than serious health implications... Seriously gets your facts straight before you decide to be an arse.

I'm a nurse and the douchebag that claims it's because people eat too much is a moron. most type ii cases in younger adults are due to insulin resistance and have more to do with the body not utilizing what it produces itself. if that what he said was true all the overweight ppl would be diabetic and they aren't my wife is and she's barely outside normal ideal weight ranges but there is a huge history of diabetes in her family her dad is rail thin and has type ii so congrats you just made an idiot of yourself

It really burns me up when people are like that. I am diabetic. I've been very sick in the last couple years with it. type 1 & 2 are both very very dangerous.
