most girls are jerks, I think. They never seem to choose the right guys and end up dumping them for it.

I kinda did that recently :/ I broke up with a guy and said I'd be friends with him then a few days later I decided we shouldn't be friends. what happened was that he was trying to hard to get me back and it made me uncomfortable. maybe she felt that way too?

when you break up with someone... that's what SHOULD happen.

it was pretty cruel, but the whole "let's stay friends" thing very rarely works out anyway...unless it's a mutual breakup on good terms, which this clearly wasn't since you're "deeply in love" with her. so while it seems terrible now, she really saved you a lot of heartache, because if she was still in your life, more than likely you would always hold out hope to get back with her only to have it crushed every time she dates another guy. it probably wasn't her intention to do this for your sake, but really, it's kinda better this way. keep your chin up, you'll be alright.

I'd rather dump someone for a valid reason than for no reason at all and at least try being friends, but that's just not going to happen. Sometimes it's for the best if the friendship takes a break after the relationship's done, at least until the broken heart has healed. In this case, it seems as if the pendulum swings both ways. We don't know why the OP was dumped in the first place.
