Today, my family and I were discussing my birthday in a couple weeks. As they asked what I wanted, I told them it was up to them. So my mother suggested that she'll get me electrolysis so I wouldn't have to worry about my mustache in college. FML

This is the kind of gift that you truly will appreciate later on when you can go out into the bright sunlight with a cute guy without worry that he'll see dark hair on your upper lip. People can be cruel, even into college, so go for it and be happy about it!

Yawn. OP: They asked you what you wanted. You told them it was up to them. Hence you cant then blame them for what they came up with as a suggestion for your present. YOU told them it was up to them. If you dont want a crappy present, then you should take the opportunity when they ask you what you want to tell them.

If you get your mustache removed from your face, won't you worry MORE about it when it goes to college? If you don't get the electrolysis, you'll be able to keep an eye on your mustache (as if you've ever noticed it before.) However, if it wants to get involved in college hijinks, your mustache is going to try to have to do it right under your nose.

Leave suggesting something up to anyone else at anytime and they might suggest anything. I've received and given gag gifts like this all the time. Though I understand electrolysis is expensive, be grateful.
