Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, saying he had to move away to be with his dad, who's just been diagnosed with cancer. After talking to his sister, I discovered that not only is his dad healthy, he's not moving away either; he's just gotten back with his ex. FML

OP, I wouldn't worry about him. He's a dumb prick if he's going to lie about his dad having cancer just so he can get back with his ex. Anyone who lies about cancer is an asshole. That shit isn't something to play around with. I've lost two family members to cancer, so I'm glad his dad is actually healthy.. but dammit, punch him in the face for lying about that.
