Today, I went to visit some family out of state for my niece's birthday. I couldn't think of what to get an 8-year-old so I got her a Barbie doll. Everyone else got her money, iPods, game consoles, etc. When she got to mine she asked "how do I turn it on?" Then threw it away when she couldn't. FML

Kids these days are so ungrateful, it makes me sick

Eh, yeah the kid's a brat, but you should've asked your sister or brother what their kid wanted before you went out and got a barbie. Not all kids like barbies. I wasn't a fan of them when I was 8. I wouldn't have just thrown it away, but I would have preferred something more to my interests. Yes, kids at 8 do have interests.

I guess I really am old, because my first thought is, "My folks would've sent me to my room and probably confiscated one of my prized toys if I did that!"

What an ungrateful little -----!!! If I was her mother, she would be making a donation to the needy of ALL the gifts she didn't throw away...to teach her to be more respectful of people!

No, use fire to make deeps wounds, then put it out with vodka. That'll make her appreciate life.

I didn't even get a Barbie until I was 11! She should be more grateful

kids today are already surrounded by so much technology that they probably dont play with dolls anymore. because when I was a kid my life revolved around my hot wheels and dolls

It's annoying how kids are ungrateful brats these days

It's sad when a child lacks the imagination to be able to play with a toy as simple as a doll or a ball. If it doesn't have buttons and batteries, they want nothing to do with it. Faith in next generation: destroyed

That is the fault of her parents! They need to teach her some respect and gratefulness.
