Today, I went to see Paranormal Activity 2 with my boyfriend. In hopes of him putting his arm around me or holding my hand, I told him that I was very scared and pretended to cry a little. He told me to be quiet because I was ruining the movie for him. Then he moved seats. FML

Today, I went to see the latest Paranormal Activity movie with my mother. We were terrified and held hands at one point. The person sitting behind us thought it would be hilarious to abruptly scream into my mother's ear. She reacted by flailing and driving her arm straight into my face. FML

Today, my boyfriend convinced me to face my fear of horror movies by promising to hold my hand through the entire flick. He fell asleep 10 minutes into it, farting and snoring in his sleep, whilst I was paralysed by fear. FML

Today, I went to the movies with my boyfriend. The movie was in 3D, and he couldn't help but notice it would be much cooler if you could feel what the characters did. He spent the next two hours slapping me every time the person in the movie did, claiming the movie would be "better". FML

Today, I went to the movies with my boyfriend. We went inside the theatre and he saw a couple of his friends. Instead of saying hi and coming back to watch the movie with me, he ditched me for them. When I reminded him he was forgetting something, he grabbed the popcorn out of my hands and left. FML

Today, I went to a haunted hayride with my crush and friends. I got scared and screamed so he put his arm around me and hugged me. I took this as a good sign and leaned in. Turns out his friend was handing him something and he wasn't putting his arm around me. FML

Seems the whole concept of going to the movies to actually watch a movie is lost on several people. It's entirely possible that the boyfriend is one of those people who enjoys movies and got so engrossed in it that he forgot he was on a date. It doesn't necessarily mean he's uncaring and it certainly isn't enough to conclude he's an asshole. Most people who regularly go to the movies get somewhat annoyed by talking, never mind fake tears and transparent attention-grabbing behavior.

Wow how sad! If he's your boyfriend you shouldn't be worried about holding his hand first. If i go to the cinema i want to see the film i've paid for, and so does every boyfriend i've ever been with. As for the fake crying, i feel sorry for your boyfriend!
