Today, I was texting a guy that one of my friends told me about. She gave me his number and told me about how he was deaf. Three hours into great conversation I forgot and asked him what his favorite music was. FML

I'm gonna agree with everyone else that deaf people can still enjoy music! Don't feel bad or awkward about it. Deaf people hate it when other people feel awkward about their disability, because for them, it's really not a disability.

My parents are deaf and my dad has two 12" subs in his car and he gets me to download good bass songs for him so don't feel too bad about it

Deaf people can hear music just in different way. Don't feel bad!

There are actual bands that sign while they sing. So, deaf people don't always have to rely on just feeling the vibrations.

Deaf people can hear music. They listen to the vibrations the beats create. You're a complete idiot.

It's obvoisly rap, with some really heavy bass

If you were already three hours into great conversation, I'd say he's probably into you enough to easily overlook the minor slip up. For the sake that this is an fml, I'm going to assume he's completely deaf, but there are varying degrees of deafness. So it is possible he can hear music. Though if completely deaf, he might like a band because of lyrics alone or listening via vibrations as others have mentioned. Either way, I wish you two the best of luck! :)

I have a deaf friend and he listens to music all the time. He likes the way music feels

Did he stop talking to you just then that this is an fml, or did you post it just then. Either way your an idiot. Deaf people can feel the vibrations of music, besides just think Beethoven was deaf and could compose and play music

Deaf people can also enjoy certain lyrics and their meanings behind music. Asking him about his taste in music can also bring up the subject of him be deaf, reassuring him that you're okay with it since you seem to be.
