Today, I was holding the door open for a friend. She told me to wait a second because she had to finish a text. Nearly a minute passed before I asked why she wouldn't come inside to finish typing. We were at a Chinese restaurant. She thought the "No MSG" sign meant you couldn't text inside. FML

At least she won't be rudely texting while you are dining.

MSG is one of several forms of glutamic acid found in foods. Because glutamic acid is pervasive in nature, being an amino acid. Seeing as the US doesn't ban/regulate them like Europe does, restaurants put up a no MSG sign. Basically, it's an additive.

MSG is also naturally occurring, all you oh-noes-MSG-is-bad-mmmkay people. This story is also rather sad, and I can't think of a single nice thing to say about your friend. Time to put the phone down...

For those who are still wondering., MSG stands for "monosodium glutamate". It's a form of highly concentrated salt that's used in a lot of foods because its cheap and powerful; also twice as bad for you.

Your girlfriend is an accidental genius. We NEED that sign to mean what she thought: NO MSGs. How refreshing that would be!

I wish there was no texting in restaurants. Well, no annoying as shit audible alerts at least. The last time I went to a restaurant the people at the next table's ringers kept going off the entire meal. Boy, that was fun. Not.

wow... that's how bad technology has taken over our life if she thought that! You know how long those signs have been up? Way before cell phone/text messaging was an epidemic! Read current events!

Stupidity: there's an app for that.

This generation is going to **** us ALL
