Today, I was going to surprise my boyfriend at his family birthday celebration with a $2,000 trip he's always wanted, Ireland. Right before my gift, he had opened his mother's gift, an envelope containing a plane ticket. Guess where it was going? FML

You could go with him, but that is depending only if the tickets overlap, for those saying just go with him, she could have bought his for a completely different month then him. =/ Still, if you're buying him such a huge gift, it is best to check with others first, especially his parents because I am pretty sure they knew he had always wanted to go as well.

If she did buy a ticket for a different time, can't she get it changed (assuming they're far enough in advance) to match his? I'm not sure how it works, last time I flew I was 16 so my parents were still taking care of tickets and what not...I imagine if it's possible, they would charge a hefty fee for it but hey, she'd still wind up going to Ireland =)

Good, now you can go with him. Problem solved. FYL for being a whiny baby

@ #20, I'll make sure to go over there strictly to piss you off and make sure i wear orange if you're a Catholic or a cross if you're a Protestant but i will take you down to the pub and buy you some Arthurs afterward

oh oh oh, that hurt so bad. u can go to hell, i stick by all my opinions. i know they're right. and u can stop acting like u know what ur talking about it just makes u seem like even more of a jackass. and i am catholic, wearing orange won't make a slight difference to me. most catholics wouldn't strictly relate wearing orange to nordies.

is he going to mexico? cause i wanna go!

ok that's just funny, and not an FML so much as a minor annoyance but it'll probably work out better in the end so STFU
