Today, I am meeting my boyfriend's very conservative parents for the first time, so I decided to dress appropriately and curl my hair to match. In so doing, I accidentally touched the iron to my neck, and now I have a burn there that closely resembles a hickey. FML

You're not a hipocrit - Christians make mistakes, a hickey isn't the end of the world - maybe just a little embarrassing when talking to your youth group. I tend to think the people you learn the most from are the one's who have been through what they're talking about in the first place. Hope it goes well x

What I am saying is there's nothing religious about being DECENT. The only things I agree with the new testament on; be nice to others and be decent, is the only thing some of you LEAVE OUT. Can't, *******, grasp, that.

That's what I was taught as a child. I often go out of my way to treat people how I'd like to be treated. It's why I'm so open about my life and my flaws. I try not to be deceitful because I wouldn't want that. Those parts of the Bible are the things I really took to heart, and luckily I didn't grow up in a church/school that taught fire and brimstone. A lot of what I was taught boils down to "live your life as a good person."
