Today, I locked my keys in my car. I had a spare key in my wallet, that I also left in the car. FML

Follow the simple rule: always lock the car with your key, NOT by the door button.

On my car, the button won't lock the drivers door if it's open. I have no choice but to use the key to lock it. I think that's a nifty feature.

the wallet is supposed to be in your pocket for a reason

Who carries a key in their wallet?

Maybe put a key on a necklace instead? Idk cuz apparently you can't even keep track of your wallet

Well for those who have OnStar they have a Phone app and you can unlock your car that way

I have done that, and locked myself out of my house. Who hasn't. I now make a habit of holding my keys in my hand when I lock my car or my house.

I've done that except I lost the spare key on the ski hill I was skiing on and when I went to my truck and I didn't have my key the ski hill was in the middle of nowhere and to top it off it was in the middle of a blizzard.

I've done something similar, but with my work keys. I locked the set of keys in the kitchen. The spare key to the kitchen was in the office, which was also locked. The spare key to the office was locked in the kitchen.
