Today, after wondering why I didn't receive a grade for a summer course I took in 2007, I realized that I gave the professor the wrong student ID number. Someone else received credit. I've been waiting on this grade for 8 months in order to graduate. FML

It took you 3 years to realise this?
Don't worry, I doubt your grade is very good.

"I've been waiting on this grade for 8 months in order to graduate."
I don't know how, but I assume all the grades were released at the same time? Even grades from 2 1/2 years ago. IDK. But it clearly says they were waiting 8 months. Still a long ass time to wait like that and still a YDI. But 8 months =/= 3 years.

I agree, if it had been only a week or two after grades were supposed to be posted and I didn't see mine, I would have emailed the teacher or called the school to see what was going on. it's been two and a half years...Ydi

Agreed. Why would you wait 3 years? I would've called within the month. If you were dumb enough to wait 3 years, your grade probably isn't that high.

"I realized that I gave the professor the wrong student ID number."
That actually sounds like it is entirely their fault.
What I don't understand is how you can take a class by simply giving a professor your student ID number? And even if you gave them a student ID number, you'd still have to be registered in the class to be taking it.
So, again, my question is: How did this even happen?

27: that wasn't there when I responded, lol. Somehow my original comment disappeared and earlier, it had that as a reply to my original comment.

Wow! This is the ultimate YDI. How did it take you over 2 1/2 yrs to realize that you didn't get credit for a course?!

Hmm what kind of a school it is! I am pretty sure for most schools you have to sign up electronically from your student account.

yeah at my college we sign in to our online account and sign up for classes through the website. so it's impossible for this sort of thing to happen. how do you register at your school, OP?

Thank goodness someone else was thinking the same thing. I've never taken a class without registering for it.
