Today, after sending in my passport application for a trip to Paris, I got a letter from the state department saying despite them having my original birth certificate, I don't exist. Upon calling them, I was told that it only proves I'm a citizen, not that I exist. I pay taxes and have a mortgage. FML

Apparently your existence has been shut down too.

Stop paying bills for a while and just give them the same excuse. Nope, not paying that I don't exist and you can't prove it (apparently).

This happened to one of my friends when he was a kid and needed a passport to move with his family to Germany. The paperwork about his birth had not been filed correctly by the state and so his parents had to bring him before a judge to prove his existence.

Well. Obviously you're a ripple in the matrix that does not compute with the system.

How can u be a citizen but bit exist??? Lol our government sucks

Makes sense... You're a citizen, but yet... you don't exist.

So, you're one of those non-existant citizens that the GOP talks about when they are passing all of those voter ID laws.

I thought passport applications were on delay due to the government shutdown anyway. But that sucks that you apparently don't exist...wtf?

Typical, you exist when they want money from you but not when you want something.

Ahahaha so true. All our government does is take but barely give
