This is so what my dad would do. He doesn't like food stinking up his car so he puts it in the trunk sometimes so the smell is at least contained.

I think that opening all the windows is much better than the risk of injury while driving with one hand. Op should have been a bit more careful

That "new car smell" isn't actually a real thing. Car dealerships spray that stuff to make cars smell brand new... And I'd, I worked at a car dealership :3

But the new car smell is real...it's the smell of unmolested leather and plastic.
