The cheek of some people

Today, I stayed at my mate's house over the weekend, but his mother threw me out, saying I’m was taking advantage of her hospitality. First, it’s her son's house, so it’s not even her hospitality, but also I was helping redecorate the whole house for free, so how was I taking advantage? FML

She's taking advantage and she's worried that you actually doing something in return will lead to her being rumbled.

You could have told her, "No. I'm helping, and I have permission to be here." And if your "mate" let his mother throw you out of HIS house after helping him remodel/redecorate, then he's not really your mate

Trying to get some experience as an amateur interior decorator? Hope you don't ruin his place in a lame effort to go pro.

Narcissistic parents are truly awful people. I hope your friend tells her she was out of line.

Don't you know only mom's can redecorate their son's house.

Am I the only one thinking maybe the Mom is homophobic and this is somehow related to that? I am not saying that the Mom has a right to do this - she does not when it is not her own home. I am just trying to understand under the circumstances why she would say that.

Homophonic? Maybe she also hates cats. How does that have anything to do with this FML?
