A fight over a toaster is a pretext. You probably shouldn’t be controlling to that level unless you’re literally struggling with every penny to make ends meet. My wife makes a lot of purchases I find redundant, like 5 sets of dishes of which we use 2, but it makes her happy. However, none of this justifies cheating. If the relationship isn’t working she should have the human decency to break up before sneaking off to screw someone else. So whatever the circumstances, she decided to cheat rather than be honest with you and that’s all on her.
