Thanks for the setup, dude

Today, I was set up on a date by a coworker. The guy turned up late, but whatever. He then spent 30 breathlessly long minutes complaining about his "bitch of an ex." Then he spent another 30 minutes trying to convince me that the QAnon bullshit was real. I had to pull the whole 'fake emergency phone call' to get the hell out of there. FML

As per Google: "QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles running a global child sex-trafficking ring is plotting against President Donald Trump, who is battling them, leading to a 'day of reckoning' involving the mass arrest of journalists and politicians." That sounds like a ******* mess. I would have just left at that point, no fake phone call. Just a "you're crazy" and run lol

What I don't understand is why you had to do the fake phone call thing. I should think that as soon as he started in about Qanon you would have simply told him how ridiculous he was and then left.

The moment they turn up late, unless there is an exceptionally good reason, you already know they don't give enough of a shit about other people to even give them common courtesy, so you know before hand what kind of person they are.
