Today, my birthday was terrible yet again. This year, my boyfriend skipped celebrating with me at all. Last year, he guilt-tripped me about ‘having’ to spend time with me and got me two gift certificates that were unusable due to COVID. These weren’t even my worst birthdays to date. FML

Today, it's my birthday. My boyfriend’s birthday is a month before mine. I'd spent my birthday savings on his, but he told me that we couldn’t do anything for mine because, “I didn’t plan or organize better.” FML

Today, it’s my birthday. Not only did my boyfriend of 5 years forget, when I reminded him, he said very unenthusiastically, “Oh, Happy Birthday.” When I said, “That’s it?” he got annoyed and said,“Well, what else do you want me to tell you?” FML

Today, I celebrated my birthday. By that, I mean I spent most of the day alone in a field, waiting for my boyfriend to have time for me, then we broke up, and I ended up spending the evening crying alone on a beach. FML

Seeing that you've stayed with same asshole through two birthdays, it looks like you're going to give him a chance to top (or bottom, as the case may be) the worst birthdays you've ever had. Nice guys like me never get a chance!

I'm trying to understand how he even managed to obtain gift certificates from a business that was Covid closed. Did someone throw them out? Are you sure you are his girlfriend? Have you met his friends? If he is worth keeping for the D get him a cupcake for his birthday and leave it out to get hard and stale.
