Nice disguise

Today, I had to walk through an extremely crowded pub wearing a dorky prisoner outfit to get to a dress-up party at the back. When we got there, I soon realised it wasn't fancy dress, but just black-and-white themed. FML

I dnt get it. anyone mind explaining

isn't a prisoner's outfit already black and white?

When I read it, I got the image of an orange jumpsuit.

There is something left out in this story I'm not getting it... How is wearing a prisoners jumpsuit fancy? WTF?

I thought of the classical black and white striped suit

Maybe the OP is complaining that it wasn't a black and white "costume party" (hence the prison outfit) but a party that he could have worn normal every day clothing as long as it was black and white (because of the theme)Therefore, felt foolish for being the only one dressed that way.

I may have misunderstood, op says they wore the prisoner outfit to only find out it wasn't a fancy dress party, just a black and white party. So op went there in a prisoner outfit assuming it was a fancy dress party??

Hey guys he is English. In England "fancy dress" means costume party. Not like fancy gowns and suits.
