Today, I confided to my dad that since the recent breakup with my boyfriend of 3 months, I feel down all the time and life doesn't feel worth living anymore. His loving advice was for me to "grow the fuck up and get your sentimental head out of la-la land." FML

Today, after being dumped by my boyfriend of two years, I poured my heart out to my dad. He nodded and looked sympathetic throughout. Afterwards, I asked him what I should do. He replied, "How the hell should I know?" and awkwardly left my room. FML

Today, I came home crying after my boyfriend dumped me for another girl. My dad told me to come tell him what was wrong. I sat down and let it all out, after which he looked up from his book, into my eyes, and gave me his loving advice: "Just cry about it and move on to another bastard." FML

Today, I went to my father for advice. I've been seeing a wonderful girl for the past month, and I feel terrible about it, because I already have a girlfriend. He said "Kill yourself" and that if I "can't even do that right" then to get out of his house, because he disowns me. FML

Today, I was sitting in my room when my dad walked in to talk. He said I'm not the son he'd hoped for, and that he'd been let down as a father. He said I should change the way I am so that he could love me more. It was the longest conversation I've had with my dad in years. FML

your dad is right.. too bad you, like most of the people on here are a child... witbh no perspective on life. in the course of your life this three month long 'relatiionship' means nothing... when you actually grow up and get in to real relationships you will laugh for ever getting pissed about this.

I'm amazed by how little people thought before commenting. So this girl is having suicidal thoughts and everyone is calling her down don't you think that might fuel the suicidal thoughts? I mean people arnt even nice about how they comment. Most of then are being dicks about it.

hey pretty much right because you need to see that you will break up and get broken up with many guys that's life. I mean it's cool to be a romanic and all, but real life is what it is. just deal with it. hang out with your friends and go places. things do get better.
