Kids say the funniest things

Today, my 6 year-old daughter saw a man in a wheelchair whose leg had been amputated. She walks up to him and says, "What happened?" He answers kindly that he's a war veteran. She then responds, "Well then you deserve to get your leg blown off. You shouldn't be killing people." FML

To everyone saying "Oh, she's a smart kid" what 6 year old REALLY understands the concept of war, death, and murder and forms such a strong opinion on THEIR OWN. This is learned behavior at such a young age. Though I don't agree with war, OP should have done a better job of teaching their kid when certain things are appropriate. When I was a kid, I would have NEVER been disrespectful. And seeing as he's an old man, it's possible he had been drafted into WWII or Vietnam. FHL for you not teaching your daughter common courtesy, FYDL for her parents not teaching her any tact, and YDI for not knowing when it's appropriate to impose your ideas regarding in issue like war on your child.

#9 you speak english thank a vet that you aren't speaking german, japanese, or russian... thank a vet that you aren't speaking or reading pashtish (excuse my spelling) and bowing to allah 5 times a day. you sleep under the blanket the vets provide and then criticize it?!?!? dont worry when ho chi min or saddam or bin ladden come calling my brothers will bleed for you. you ungrateful american

Good for you for teaching your daughter the right things. Not going to get into the debate of choice of enlisting and being enlisted and 'support the troops not the war' rhetoric. Both soldiers on both side, regardless of their reasoning did, infact, Kill. And killing is wrong so good for your daughter! And somebody above me called you a bad mom, so i just wanted to say that you are infact a very good mom..and that the person who wrote that about you was probably raised by a bad mother since he obviously doesn't understand its rude to accuse people of things..:)

#48 Stop calling people bad parents. Do YOU know them? NO. How do you know its not an isolated incident? Stop bloody judging parents.

"#40 I have a degree in the subject thank you." You have some awfully one-sided opinions for having a degree in the subject; surely you must know that the majority of those who fought in Vietnam were conscripted into service to do so, and surely you must know that massacres were not limited to the actions of US servicemen only. I'm not saying I agree with the Vietnam War; I'm saying that the way we treated those who returned from Vietnam, who may or may not have had a choice in the matter, was terrible. "majority of wars in which US finds itself don't tend to require its assistance." This is a problem that concerns itself with the bureaucracy of war, not the soldiers who fight it.

#49 if you were a good american you would know that we have americans here who do pray to allah, or speak japanese, or speak german. You are the epitome of the reason why our country was shrouded in disdain with the likes of prejudice and the KKK for far too long. You sicken me. Good Day.

"And killing is wrong so good for your daughter!" And the naivete abounds...I hope people like you don't ever find themselves in a situation where self-defense is required; I wouldn't want you to get your moral panties in a bunch.

#49 you know you'd probably be better off in German right now, or Russian or in fact Japan. Tlist the recession isn't that bad. Oh and by the by Ho Chi Mihn really wasn't that bad he never tried to attack America so he was never a threat. So please stop being xenophobic a lot of the people mentioned above would rather never be American. Stop this flag waving you're making a fool of yourself and fitting all stereotypes
