Today, after my father in law upset my 6-year-old son by telling him creating a world in Minecraft is a sin, because only god is allowed to create worlds so all Minecraft players will burn in hell one day, it's been 5 days since he's slept right because he’s scared the Devil will burn him if he falls asleep. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, I woke up to my 5-year-old standing over me with a pillow. I asked him what he was doing, and he replied that he and Steve were playing a game, but Steve said I have to be asleep for it. Steve is my son's imaginary friend. I'm convinced Steve wants to kill me. FML

Family bliss

Today, and most nights, my 17 year-old twins scream and shout while playing Fortnite. I asked if they could kindly not tonight, as I was tired and needed sleep. One told me I couldn't tell him to get off, he's allowed to play. I turned the WiFi off, which ended up with the other screaming and swearing how unfair i was. Now I can't sleep. FML

Today, because my husband wasn’t paying attention, he gave our 6 year-old his Netflix instead of the kid safe settings, so she watched a very gory horror film that has given her nightmares, so I now haven’t slept in 5 nights because of it. My husband face sleeps soundly through her screaming. FML

Strange parenting

Today, for the fourth day in a row, my nine year-old son drags his feet when it’s bedtime with any excuse he can come with. He keeps getting up an hour later to tell me a story. No punishment, nothing works. I gave up and offered him $300, yes $300 cash, to go to sleep. He said no and ran to bed crying, saying I upset him. FML

That is so cruel. Your son just wants to use his imagination to make his own world in a rather harmless game(it's on of my favorite games and I'm 27!) This is one of the many reasons why I left the church after high school(I was Catholic). I'm sorry OP, I hope he gets better. And I hope your father in law betters himself also. Hang in there!

OP, If you and your family are not religious, just explain that granddad is superstitious and that superstitious are just made up and not real. If you and your family are religious you have to explain that granddad is wrong and that God gave us a mind and imagination to use and that there is nothing wrong with using them to create things of beauty and use. Then make sure that nut job is never around your child unsupervised again. He’s an idiot who fears what he does not understand. That’s bad enough, but dumping those fears on his grandchild is not OK.
