That sucks BUT at least you're inheriting some good genes. Even if your parents are only 14yrs older than you but they look your age... That's awesome! Not right now for your dating life obviously.
On the other hand, people have been known to date 14 year older people.
It's creepy, but I know of at least 3 girls at my HS that are dating people at least 10 years older than them. They're all 18, but I still think it's ****** up for a girl who isn't even done with high school to date someone who's almost 30.
The only way I could see that not being creepy is if like the girl had a baby and is looking for a mature man to settle down with. A lot of the time people in their 20s aren't looking to start a family so one would kind of need to date older men. Other than that though, definitely creeps for dating girls so young, ick.
As a 29 year old man I may find a younger woman (18 -21) physically attractive but 9 times out of 10 they are not in the same place as me in life, and it's to be expected. and that last 1/10th is even stretching it. It may work for some people but it really makes you question what kind of guy he is if he is dating an 18yo. On that note I want to say there is nothing wrong with 18yo's but they haven't figured things out yet, hell, I'm 29 and I'm barely just beginning to figure them out now.
Personally, I think it depends on the people involved. My friend's parents started dating when she was 18 and he was 30. People found it creepy and shook their heads, but 30+ years later they have built their home together, raised 5 great kids, and are clearly still in love. Some 18-yos know exactly what they want, and others don't (nothing wrong with that either). Of course age-difference will play a role, but if both are aware of that and are willing, there are ways to overcome that barrier just like any other. However if the 18-yo is super immature and the older one is clearly taking advantage of that, then I do find it creepy.
While that is true, guys shouldn't flip out without getting the full story. I mean it's not like you were holding hands and making out with your dad, right? It's silly that they jump to conclusions so quickly.
OK I don't know if it's the fact that I haven't had a sip to drink or a bite to eat in 14 hours or so. But it took me like 3 tries to get this FML. Must be embarrassing for you OP. But at the same time it's a good way to see someone's character.
9, it took me a couple reads too, haha. The way it's worded made me think that OP was pregnant, but that didn't make sense.
Sorry OP, that's rough. 2, Tell all the ladies that too. They do it even more often. Both genders cheat too before you say anything.
I badly misinterpreted this horribly worded FML. Ignore me.
#2 You're making it sound like only guys flip out and jump to conclusions without hearing the full story, and that's not really fair. Both genders do this at times, and I can recall a few fmls where the women freaked out, so it's really not fair to point the finger at the men.
This happened with a friend of mine. We went to applebees to chat and the bartender knew his gf. She broke up with him for cheating on her. I was engaged and this guy was (god that hurt me, he recently passed) very much just a friend. Usually you dont want to be with someone like that.
Probably need to just drop them. If they are acting like that without listening to any explanation from you or your dad they are not gonna be worth your time. Good luck!
Hot potatoes are not worth your time?
Why would you drop food? Wasteful much?
If you just drop hot potatoes on the ground I shudder to think what you do to cold potatoes.
"Dad, please just show him your license or something!" "What are you talking about, babe?"
Dad FTW with that line XD
Well, since the wording on this made me think you meant your DAD flipped out and accused you of cheating...this could be worse.
No I think it would be much worse if the dad accused OP of cheating on him.
That's what 7 is saying.
Guess you could say you have daddy issues? :c
This happens to me all the time and my dad is 26 years older but apparently aged well. He's been mistaken for my brother or boyfriend, I feel your pain OP.
Your 19.... Your dad became a father at age7???
She said 26 years OLDER not 26 years old
I've been accused of being my Fathers Wife AND my Mothers girlfriend. It happens, OP. But **** that off. Nobody needs that type of shit.
My dad's 50 turning 51, and I'm 18. I've been mistaken for his wife and mistress.
Just explaining might make it better, but why would he think you were cheating in the first place? Even if you were with a male friend, you are allowed to have them - I doubt you were being lovey dovey with your Dad.
