Deception

Today, I went out to a restaurant to meet a girl that I met online. When I arrived, I texted her and she said she was wearing a blue shirt. The only person that was wearing anything blue was a fat man smiling in the corner. FML

Was your "girl" a guy or did she ditch you?

Heard of the MTV show "Catfish"? Lots of people pretend to be someone else. It happens to a lot of people. Sorry it happend to you :(

Is there maybe a chance you got the wrong restaurant? If not, I'd find the most obese woman with the most chins, and pay her to go in my place.

skype, my friend. actually any form of video chat. rule number one.:)

As discussed on the earlier comments, video chatting proves nothing these days because there are macros that can swap out your image in a live video feed.. So Skype doesn't mean it's legit

I just ask for a photo of outside and current time if you are in same area background can tell u if it is current and time shows you when they took it simple yea and if the take it and send it no time to edit

If they have a phone with photo apps they can add text to the picture to look like a timestamp, and it doesn't take long for someone to do that. The outside bit is smart, but not fool proof.

Well he's still the same person, go sit down and say hello!

Does the fact that the "she" is actually a "he" really mean they are the same person? Not really.

Was a joke, "same person on the inside" kinda thing

The connection may not of been the same but if he was honest about what they talked about a friendship may come out of it. Just hopefully op didn't send any inappropriate pictures or he might get some funny looks Lolz

I wouldn't start a friendship with someone that deceiving.

OP- Just to make my pain at your pain less, I'm going to imagine the guy who catfished you as Peter Griffin... See, that makes it MUCH better, doesn't it? At least for me it turns your encounter into a comic fantasy. For you, well, you need some eye-bleach and mind-erase or your online dating's going to be forever damaged....

Proof that everything on the Internet is not what it seems!

she probably saw you and lied. sorry

The internet, where men are men, women are also men and teenage girls are FBI agents.

Even males can become victims on blind dates. Sounds hot. I wonder if he had a bunch of bondage activities waiting back at home for you.
