Today, I spent hours debating with a lady who claimed she'd spent years "studying the big bang theory." Not only did she not know the scientific meaning of the word "theory", her killer argument was "If the big bang happened, where are the fossils?" I'm not sure whether or not I just got trolled. FML

Today, I told a friend I had become more religious lately. He immediately started mocking me for being a "stupid creationist bigot." When I told him how offensive that was, he acted bewildered and started condescendingly lecturing me about how "science has proven God does not exist." FML
Today, my daughter believed that watching the Big Bang Theory would count as studying for her chemistry final. FML
Today, I found out that the girl I've fallen in love with is a "young-earth/dinosaurs-lived-with-humans" crackpot. FML
Today, I presented my child with the classic "Who came first, the chicken or the egg?" conundrum. In return, I got a detailed lecture on how birds evolved from dinosaurs, how life was created in the sea and an explanation about evolution. I got schooled by a 9 year old. FML
Today, after a long discussion, my dad still doesn't understand how evolution works, and thinks it's a myth that was debunked a long time ago. FML
Today, I listened to my niece explain to me, in great detail, that the Titanic never sank, and that the year it supposedly did was a prediction of 9/11. She learned all of this from some whackjob conspiracy theory videos, and acts like she's an expert now as a result. FML
Today, I got into a heated argument with my mom, because apparently I'm an idiot for not sharing her belief that chickens are mammals. She has a university degree in this stuff. FML
Today, I had a debate at school. I had diligently studied my position, digging up historical parallels, researching the economics, and preparing citations. I lost to a guy who just yelled, "Tax the billionaires" to every question. FML
Today, I went to the Natural History Museum with my boyfriend. While we were standing in front of real dinosaur bones, he told me he didn't believe in dinosaurs. FML
Today, I disproved a scientific theory created by my supervisor. He was furious and said that I shouldn't have tried to disprove him. He told me to continue working with his theory and now he threatens to fire me if I publish my work. FML

Pssh, obviously the fossils were eaten by unicorns. Everyone knows dinosaur bones are the primary source of nutrition for unicorns. And unicorn blood is the primary nutrition of Dark Lords. It's the circle of life.

Sounds like me and my mom she'll get mad if I call a Loquat a loquat claiming that is not the name of a plum we have what used to be called Japanese Plum trees but a couple years back found out they are called Loquats she still doesn't believe me despite I showed proof online

First of all, scientists proved that the big bang theory was scientifically impossible. That being said, there is no evidence saying that a god exists, so you can go back to being an atheist.

Scientists can prove anything they want. But if it's not a replicatable experiment and peer reviewed no one's going to take it seriously. Please provide evidence of your statement that I totally and completely believe because I read it on the internet. And you're not allowed to lie on the internets.

Really, when you think about it, the idea of there being nothing before everything existed sounds impossible. What is nothing? Was there anything before the nothing existed? It's like the idea of space constantly expanding. What is beyond that space? What is it expanding into? etc etc. There are so many things that humans can theorize about, but we'll likely never know the answer to.
