Coincidence

Today, I was moving to my new apartment. I left some furniture outside as I drove to dump the first load at my new place. When I got back, everything was gone. Apparently, today is the day the donation truck was coming around to take everything we don't need. FML

You're moving without help? How could you place your furniture outside, not have a friend watch it and actually expect it to still be there when you return? I think this shoulda been common sense.

Well... At least you donated it to someone who will really need it

Time to go thrifting? Let out your inner Macklemore and get that furniture back

There has to be a way to explain it to the donation agency and get your stuff back.

I guess you're SOFAr outa luck

Wow, that was terrible dude.............

That pun was pretty bad. He better vase the facts that puns are better suited to professionals.

You should take your advice to heart #45.

Davewilliams78 - You should CHAIR the meeting on puns, seeing that you're such an expert.

#2, you are SOFAking retarded.

Ok this made me laugh. As for the joke yeah it was bad. But really OP sorry for your bad luck

well you figured out that they take donations. good job!

I thought that they had to come and ask you what you were donating before taking anything. They basically just stole it. Downvote me if you please but I call B.S. until I hear more.

Well... At least you donated it to someone who will really need it

He did a surprise good thing. Something similar kinda happened to me. We sat out a bunch of old TVs to be thrown away and they got picked up.

that is similar in no way whatsoever... man, you are on a roll with bad comments! u a troll?

But... What if OP really needed that furniture? Speaking from a broke student's perspective - cheap, new furniture is very hard to come by!

Knowing how society is today, it will probably go to some drug junkie or alcoholic who won't even attempt to get a job and lives on welfare. At least OP would have had good use for it.

...What kind of a society do you live in 68??

@ #68: yes I totally agree, because in today's economy all the non druggies have jobs, and they're are all rich enough to buy those brand new leather couches they always dreamed of. That was sarcasm by the way.

I didnt mean similar in the fact that he needed it. Just that we actually didn't know pickup day was that day. Not a troll. Just really bored on a road trip

I think OP is the one that really needed it

They must have been fast to get it all before you got back.

Well I'm sure they can give it back to you since you actually do need it.

But the people who the furniture is being donated to don't actually need it.. that makes sense. Not saying he shouldn't get it back, just saying your logic is.. dumb.

I think you interpreted this differently than I did. I was assuming it was more meant as "Since you now have no furniture and you obviously are in need, they don't need to feel weird about giving it to you because that's their purpose", as opposed to "You are the only one who needs furniture."

I'd stare at the furniture for weeks with unbearable guilt knowing that I took it back from charity. But I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. Do what you have to do OP!!

64, fair enough if he did give it to charity but he didn't. I don't think he should feel guilty as he didn't donate then change his mind.

Some people live in areas where theft is not much of a problem. Op may have lived in the county, or in a small town. Not everyone even has to bother locking their doors at night.

#22 - Crime happens everywhere. Don't be one of those people that leaves the car running when they go into the store, then complains their car was stolen.

22... Lots of things can happen to it other than getting stolen also. Depending on where it was, someone might have thought it was out for garbage and took it, birds could poop on it, it could start raining. It's just not smart to leave your belongings unattended.

Where I'm from it's not theft. You leave it on the sidewalk and it's fair game for anyone who wants/needs it.

Theft or an accident....pretty sure we're all feeling a pinch or two from this recession so most are gonna jump at anything that appears free.

I live in the biggest city in my province and have never had a problem with theft. Everyone in my neighborhood is always leaving their shit out or not locking things up. Bikes and expensive lawn furniture especially. All that aside, 41 makes an excellent point!

Well, now you won't have to make as many trips!

Why is he getting thumbed down ? It's humor site, and that was funny :)
